Getting started with LI-COR Cloud

LI-COR Cloud™ is the online service for the Internet of the Environment (IoE). It is where environmental data are secured, shared, assessed, and interpreted. Data on LI-COR Cloud include a provenance - the history of processing and sources of information - as well as secure encoding.

Overview of roles

People who use LI-COR Cloud are either Managers or Members. Managers have full permission, while Members have access when they participate in a group. Group membership is assigned by Managers; nodes (devices) are available to assigned groups.

  • Manager: The individual who is responsible for the account. The manager can add nodes, create groups, add members to groups, and share devices with members via groups. The Manager role can be reassigned.

  • Node: Also known as Device, a Water Node is an LI-710 connected to an IoE module and LI-COR Cloud. A Node can also host a HydraProbe. Support for other sensors will be added in the future.

  • Group: Devices, such as the Water Node, are made available to groups. Group members have access to those devices.

  • Member: Individuals who are part of a group, but not administrators or managers of that group.

After registering and logging in, select Water - IoE Enabled Evapotranspiration.

Adding the IoE-Enabled node to LI-COR Cloud

Devices can be added after you are logged in.

  1. If it is your first time, click Add IoE Enabled Node

If you're adding another node, click IoE Enabled Nodes () and then click Register Node.

The device interface allows you to name a IoE Module and enter the ID to connet.
  2. Assign a Node Name - something that will help you distinguish this device from others.

The device interface allows you to name a IoE Module and enter the ID to connet.
  3. Power on the IoE module and allow it to start up.

  4. Enter a name for the node and then scan the IoE Module QR code when prompted (from the IoE Module home screen, press left and down twice to view the code).

Alternatively, you can enter the information manually from the About System screen.

The client ID is given under the about screen.
  5. Click or tap Add to register the IoE-enabled node with LI-COR Cloud.

The node will begin uploading measurement data (messages) on the programmed schedule.

It may take 30 minutes or more before the first messages are uploaded to LI-COR Cloud.
