Notifications and alerts

LI-COR Cloud can send notifications for alerts. You can be notified of issues related to the IoE Module or sensors that are connected. Notifications are sent to an email address or as an SMS message to a phone number (charges may apply), or both. Some terminology to begin:

  • Alert: A user-configurable threshold that is triggered on LI-COR Cloud. You can be informed of an alert by configuring notifications. Alerts that have been triggered in the past are in the Alert Log even if the issue has cleared.

  • Notification: The message you get informing you of an alert. You can subscribe or unsubscribe to notifications.

  • Diagnostics: Issues reported by a sensor. Diagnostics can be used for alerts, which then can be used for a notification.

  • Conditions: Issues reported by an IoE Module. Conditions do not require immediate attention, typically. Conditions can be used to trigger an alert, which then can be used for a notification.

Configuring notifications

To configure notifications, select a node and then click the bell . Find the parameter that should trigger the notification and then click Plus. .

Alerts are configurable for each node and device.

As an example, you can get a notification if system power is lower than 11.5 volts. Notifications can be configured for any parameter reported by the IoE module.

  1. Select a node (and a sensor, if desired) then click Alerts .

  2. For a parameter-of-interest, click Add Alert .

  3. Select the comparator (above or below) and set the threshold.

The threshold is the value to trigger a notification.

Set a comparator and threshold for alerts.
  4. Click Confirm to apply the setting.

The table will indicate the new changes.

  5. You will be subscribed to the alert after creating it, as indicated by the button.

If you do not want to subscribe automatically, click the button to unsubscribe.

    You are subscribed to alerts.
    • To edit the parameters of an alert, click the edit icon .
    • To delete an alert, click the trash can to delete the specific alert, or the Unsubscribe button to retain the alert settings but stop getting notified.
      Unsubscribe to alerts button.

Notification options

Notifications that have been configured (whether you subscribe or not) can be viewed under a node that you own or a group that you have joined. This is a quick view of all notifications for an IoE-Enabled node and sensors. Click to view the diagnostics alert log, where configured alerts are given, along with the time it was configured.

IoE Module notifications

The IoE Module will upload a number of operating conditions that can be configured to send a notification.
